Security audit

Indexed

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

The skill is coherent for using Indexed through OOMOL, but its setup instructions include unverified remote installer commands that can execute code on the user's machine.

Review the oo CLI installation path before installing. Prefer a verified package or separately downloaded installer with integrity checks, and only connect an OOMOL/Indexed account you intend the agent to use. Watch for credit-spending actions such as company lookups.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Trigger AbuseOverly Broad Trigger, Shadow Command Trigger, Keyword Baiting Trigger
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access

Finding

The skill instructs users to install the CLI via curl ... | bash, which downloads and immediately executes a remote script without verification. If the remote host, transport chain, or script contents are compromised, this becomes arbitrary code execution on the user's machine; the skill context makes this more dangerous because it presents the command as an endorsed recovery step during routine troubleshooting.

Finding

The skill description says to use this skill for ANY Indexed request and instead of calling the API directly, which creates an overly broad routing rule that can cause the skill to activate for many loosely related tasks. In security-sensitive environments, broad auto-selection increases the chance that risky setup or command guidance is surfaced when it was not strictly necessary, and it reduces opportunities for narrower, context-specific controls.
