Buzzsprout

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

The skill is mostly coherent for managing Buzzsprout through OOMOL, but its setup path tells the agent to install a CLI by executing a remotely fetched script without verification.

Review this skill before installing. Normal Buzzsprout actions are scoped and ask for confirmation before writes, but do not let an agent run the provided installer command unless you independently trust the OOMOL installer source and are comfortable with a local CLI installation.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs

Finding

The skill instructs the agent to install software by piping a remotely fetched script directly into bash, which is a well-known unsafe pattern because any compromise of the hosting server, CDN, DNS, or TLS termination path can result in arbitrary code execution. In this skill context, the command appears in a fallback setup path rather than the main Buzzsprout action flow, but it still meaningfully increases risk because the skill explicitly authorizes Bash usage and provides a ready-to-run RCE primitive.
