Security audit

Only VPN

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a straightforward OnlyVPN CLI reference that tells the agent how to run user-directed VPN and subscription commands.

Before installing, confirm the OnlyVPN downloads are from the provider you intended to trust. Be aware that copying vpn-cli to /usr/local/bin uses administrator privileges and changes a system PATH directory, and that subscription remove commands delete the named VPN subscription/configuration until it is re-added.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep

Finding

Commands invoke sudo or root privileges. Verify this elevated access is necessary and justified.

  1. Use the vpn-cli binary from the zip (no .exe) with arguments. If it is not on PATH, copy it into a directory on PATH, for example:

    bash
    sudo cp path/to/vpn-cli /usr/local/bin/
    sudo chmod +x /usr/local/bin/vpn-cli

Missing User Warnings

Confidence
88% confidence
Finding

The markdown instructs the user to copy vpn-cli into /usr/local/bin using sudo cp and change permissions with sudo chmod +x, which modifies system state and requires elevated privileges. There is no adjacent warning about needing administrator rights or that this changes a directory on the user's PATH.

Missing User Warnings

Confidence
87% confidence
Finding

This markdown reference documents vpn-cli sub remove "link.com" as a normal operation but does not warn that it deletes a configured subscription. For markdown files, destructive or user-data-affecting behaviors should include some disclosure so users understand the impact before running the command.
