Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This database CLI skill appears purpose-aligned, but it needs review because it installs an unverified native binary and handles sensitive database and AI-provider data with limited safety guidance.

Review this before installing. Use least-privilege, preferably read-only database accounts; avoid putting real passwords in command-line arguments or URLs; verify the downloaded binary yourself if possible; and do not use AI query generation with sensitive schema, prompts, or data unless you are comfortable sending that context to the configured provider.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Insecure DependenciesIntroduces malicious components through unsafe dependency sources
  • Insecure Skill Coding PracticesFinds exploitable flaws such as hardcoded secrets or command injection
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review

Finding

The skill advertises AI-powered SQL generation via OpenAI or Anthropic but does not disclose that user prompts, and potentially database schema or query context needed to generate SQL, may be transmitted to third-party providers. In a database tooling context this is risky because users may submit sensitive business data, table names, or operational metadata without realizing it leaves their environment.
