Linkme Api

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a disclosed ScraperSocial Linkme lookup wrapper that reads one API key, calls one fixed third-party API host, and prints JSON.

Install only if you are comfortable giving this skill access to your ScraperSocial API key and sending Linkme lookup requests to ScraperSocial, which may use account credits. The artifact does not show hidden persistence, local data collection, or unrelated system access.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • MCP Least PrivilegeUnderdeclared Capability, Wildcard Permission, Missing Permission Declaration
  • MCP Tool PoisoningHidden Instructions, Unicode Deception, Parameter Description Injection
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access

Finding

The declared purpose is a Linkme data toolkit that resolves a Linkme page to links and profile details. The supplied code does not implement that endpoint-specific behavior. Instead, it is generic infrastructure shared by ScraperSocial skills: API key loading, HTTP request construction, retries, timeout handling, flag parsing, and JSON/error output. While this may support the declared skill, this chunk alone does not actually perform the described Linkme resolution. It also accesses an environment-stored API credential and makes authenticated outbound requests, which is inconsistent with the declared empty permissions if permissions are meant to reflect resource access.
