Security audit

autospec

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

AutoSpec is a documentation-only skill for helping generate formal specifications from code, with no evidence of hidden execution, persistence, credential use, or data exfiltration.

Install this if you want an agent to help infer or write formal contracts from code. Review any generated specifications before applying them, because incorrect preconditions or invariants can change verification outcomes even though the skill itself shows no unsafe behavior.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Trigger AbuseOverly Broad Trigger, Shadow Command Trigger, Keyword Baiting Trigger
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Finding

The manifest description advertises very broad use cases such as automatic precondition synthesis, postcondition generation, loop invariant inference, and formal contract specification without clear activation boundaries. In agent-routing environments, this can cause the skill to be invoked for loosely related coding or verification tasks, increasing the chance of over-broad delegation, unintended access to sensitive code context, or misuse in workflows not requiring this specialized capability.
