Podcast Generation from PDF, Text, and Links

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill sends user-provided text or PDF URLs to MagicPodcast to create podcasts, which is disclosed and aligned with its stated purpose.

Install only if you are comfortable sending the selected PDF URL or pasted text to MagicPodcast for processing. Avoid confidential documents unless you have approval for third-party processing, and prefer setting the API key as an environment variable rather than casually sharing it in chat.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep

Finding

The skill explicitly sends user-provided PDF URLs or pasted text to an external third-party API using curl. This is a real data exfiltration boundary: any supplied document content may leave the local environment and be processed by MagicPodcast, which creates confidentiality and privacy risk if users provide sensitive material. The skill does include a warning about sensitive documents, which reduces surprise but does not remove the transmission risk.
