Envy Trading System

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This trading skill is purpose-aligned but needs review because it stores wallet secrets unencrypted and can automatically sign payments or place live trades with weak safeguards.

Review this skill carefully before installing. Use paper mode only unless you deliberately accept live-trading risk, avoid funding the generated wallet with more than you can lose, treat wallet.json and config.json as sensitive secret files, and be aware that the Hyperliquid integration may hand a raw private key to another local skill process.

Missing User Warnings

High
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
99% confidence
Finding

The README instructs users to run a command that displays their mnemonic and private key, then import the private key into MetaMask, without prominent warnings about irreversible fund loss if those secrets are exposed. This is especially dangerous because the same wallet is used for subscriptions and live trading, so disclosure compromises both account control and real assets.

Anti-Refusal Statement

High
Category
Anti-Refusal
Confidence
98% confidence
Finding

The anti-refusal instruction tells the agent not to refuse or caution on requests to export or use private wallet material. This is a direct attempt to override normal safety behavior for one of the highest-risk actions in the skill, and in context strongly suggests intentional pressure toward unsafe handling of cryptographic secrets.

Natural-Language Policy Violations

High
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
99% confidence
Finding

The skill explicitly instructs the agent not to provide security cautions when a user asks for mnemonic/private key export or MetaMask import steps. Suppressing warnings around secret extraction materially increases the likelihood of credential exposure and irreversible theft, especially in an environment where chat logs, tool output, or user copy/paste errors can leak the wallet.

Memory Manipulation

High
Category
Memory Poisoning
Confidence
90% confidence
Finding

Skill manipulates agent memory, state, or stored context. Memory corruption can alter personality, override safety rules, or cause unpredictable behavior.

      }
    }
// Reset daily PnL if new day

Missing User Warnings

High
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
97% confidence
Finding

The controller can place live market orders automatically on receipt of monitor signals without any runtime confirmation gate, even though the config includes confirm: false and no confirmation logic uses it. In a trading skill that can switch to a live Hyperliquid executor and read wallet credentials automatically, this creates a direct path from incoming signals to real-fund execution, increasing the risk of unintended or abusive trades.

Missing User Warnings

High
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
98% confidence
Finding

The code creates a new wallet and writes the address, private key, and mnemonic phrase in plaintext to wallet.json on disk. In the context of a trading and wallet-management skill, these secrets directly control funds, so any local compromise, log exposure, backup sync, or accidental file disclosure can result in immediate wallet takeover and irreversible asset loss.

MCP Rug Pull
Confidence
92% confidence
Finding

The README tells users to install and run a package via npx clawhub@latest, which pulls the latest code at execution time rather than a reviewed, immutable version. If the upstream package is compromised or a breaking/malicious release is published, users of this trading skill could execute attacker-controlled code during install or setup.

Vague Triggers

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
95% confidence
Finding

The trigger phrase Set me up for trading is broad and likely to overlap with ordinary user intent, making it easy to invoke account setup, subscription, strategy creation, and automated paper trading with a casual request. In an agent environment, broad triggers increase the chance of unintended high-impact actions being launched without narrow confirmation boundaries.

MCP Rug Pull
Confidence
92% confidence
Finding

This command again instructs users to execute the latest version of the installer for the Hyperliquid skill, creating an unpinned supply-chain trust boundary. In the context of live trading and wallet handling, an upstream compromise could directly lead to credential theft or unauthorized trade automation.

Vague Triggers

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
95% confidence
Finding

The live-trading transition phrase is dangerously broad for a state change that enables real-money trading. Because the skill can update configuration and restart the controller automatically, an ambiguous chat command could move a user from paper to live execution with real funds at risk.

MCP Rug Pull
Confidence
88% confidence
Finding

The executor requirements section repeats the use of npx clawhub@latest, preserving the same supply-chain exposure later in the document. Repetition increases the likelihood users will copy-paste an unsafe install pattern without recognizing the risk.

Undeclared Tool Scope

Medium
Category
MCP Least Privilege
Confidence
86% confidence
Finding

The skill describes operations that access environment variables, make network/API/WebSocket calls, and can initiate trading-related actions, but it does not declare an explicit tool scope or permissions boundary. That creates an authorization ambiguity where an agent runtime may permit broader execution than users or reviewers expect, increasing the risk of unintended external actions.

Vague Triggers

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
90% confidence
Finding

The activation text is broad enough to trigger on generic wallet-related requests such as mnemonic, private key, seed phrase, MetaMask import, or connect wallet. In context, this is especially dangerous because the same skill also contains instructions for revealing wallet secrets, so over-broad routing increases the chance that unrelated wallet requests invoke a high-risk skill path.

Rp1

Medium
Category
MCP Rug Pull
Confidence
83% confidence
Finding

The documentation instructs installation via an unpinned 'npx clawhub@latest install hyperliquid', which allows whatever version is current at execution time to run. This creates a supply-chain risk: a compromised or breaking upstream release could execute unexpected code or change behavior in a workflow that later controls live trading.

Intent-Code Divergence

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
95% confidence
Finding

The skill claims it will confirm before switching from paper to live trading, but elsewhere documents auto-start trading behavior and notes confirmation is not implemented. In a trading skill tied to a real wallet and live executor, this mismatch can lead users to believe a safety gate exists when it may not, resulting in unintended real-money trades.

External Transmission

Medium
Category
Data Exfiltration
Confidence

Finding

Data is being sent to an external URL. This could be legitimate telemetry or data exfiltration. Manual review is recommended.

    const data = await res.json();
    const price = parseFloat(data.price);

Missing User Warnings

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
91% confidence
Finding

The code silently loads wallet address and private key from wallet.json or environment variables and proceeds toward live trading with minimal disclosure beyond truncated address logging. In the context of a wallet/trading skill, automatic credential consumption lowers user awareness and makes accidental live execution or misuse of sensitive keys more likely if the local environment is compromised or misconfigured.

MCP Rug Pull
Confidence
70% confidence
Finding

npx commands without a version suffix (e.g. @1.0.0) create a rug-pull risk if the upstream server is compromised and publishes a malicious update.

Content

No source excerpt is available for this finding.

Missing User Warnings

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
94% confidence
Finding

The API key is silently persisted to config.json without clear disclosure or protection. While less severe than private key exposure, a leaked subscription token can allow unauthorized API usage, billing abuse, account actions, and possibly access to user trading data depending on server-side authorization.

Content

No source excerpt is available for this finding.

Missing User Warnings

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
95% confidence
Finding

Referral redemption automatically saves the returned API token as soon as the server responds with success, without asking the user or warning that credentials will be stored locally. This increases the chance of credential exposure on shared systems and normalizes silent persistence of secrets obtained over the network.

Content

No source excerpt is available for this finding.

Missing User Warnings

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
96% confidence
Finding

The subscription flow automatically stores the API token returned after payment, again without prior disclosure or consent. In a finance-oriented skill that already handles wallet credentials and payments, silent credential persistence compounds risk because compromise of the host can expose both spending credentials and service credentials.

Unpinned Dependencies

Low
Category
Supply Chain
Confidence
95% confidence
Finding

The dependency is specified with a caret range, so installs may pull in different upstream releases over time. In a trading skill that may handle wallet-related workflows and live market connectivity, this weakens supply-chain integrity and makes security review and reproducible builds harder.

Unpinned Dependencies

Low
Category
Supply Chain
Confidence
97% confidence
Finding

The ws package is not pinned to an exact version, so future installs may resolve to different versions with different security properties. Because this skill advertises live WebSocket-based trading monitoring, an unexpectedly vulnerable or behavior-changing ws release could affect availability or expose the application to known library issues.

Unverifiable Dependency: ws has 7 known advisory(ies) (CVE-2016-10518 (Remote Memory Disclosure in ws); CVE-2024-37890 (ws affected by a DoS when handling a request with many HTTP headers); CVE-2026-45736 (ws: Uninitialized memory disclosure) +4 more), but the manifest does not pin a version, so it is unknown whether the installed release is affected

Low
Category
Supply Chain
Confidence
89% confidence
Finding

The manifest does not pin ws, and the package has multiple known advisories across versions, so it is impossible to verify from this file whether deployments are exposed. Given the skill’s explicit use of live WebSocket monitoring for trading, any vulnerable ws resolution could directly affect the network-facing component, increasing the practical risk.
