Task ToDo

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This is a straightforward local task-list skill that stores and manages tasks in a SQLite database, with deletion behavior that should be documented more clearly but is aligned with its purpose.

Installers should understand that this skill stores task data in a local tasks.db file and that delete commands remove task records without an extra confirmation prompt. Avoid storing sensitive information in task titles or descriptions unless local SQLite storage is acceptable for your workflow.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Missing User Warnings

88% confidence
Finding

This markdown file describes a delete operation and provides a direct example command, but it does not warn that deletion removes stored task data or indicate whether the action is reversible. For markdown files, destructive behaviors that can affect user data should be accompanied by a user-facing warning.

Finding

This code performs a data-deleting operation through delete_task but provides no prior confirmation prompt or explicit warning to the user that the action is destructive. Although the CLI prints a success message after deletion, that does not disclose the risk before the irreversible action occurs.

Finding

This markdown file documents a delete operation (python task_skill.py delete 1) and states that tasks can be removed from the database, but it does not warn users that deletion affects persistent stored data and may be irreversible. For markdown files, omission of warnings about behaviors that could affect user data is in scope for missing user warnings.
