Value & Environment Validator

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a small reference guide for x-cmd validation and environment-check commands, with no bundled code or hidden behavior found.

Install this if you use x-cmd and want an agent to remember `x is` validation commands. Review suggested shell commands before running them, especially file-age checks with globs, but the skill itself does not add code, persistence, or credential access.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Trigger AbuseOverly Broad Trigger, Shadow Command Trigger, Keyword Baiting Trigger
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Finding

The trigger description is broad and packed with generic verbs like 'validate', 'check', and 'verify', which can cause the agent to invoke this skill for many ordinary requests that are not specifically about the x-is tool. Over-broad activation increases the chance of inappropriate tool selection, unexpected shell-oriented guidance, and unsafe context switching in workflows that should remain narrow and deterministic.
