Price Compare

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill performs disclosed price-comparison searches and trust scoring for shopping results, with no evidence of hidden persistence, credential theft, destructive behavior, or unrelated authority.

Before installing, expect the skill to perform multiple external retailer searches and sometimes use a browser fallback to inspect shopping pages. Review prices before buying, because the skill recommends links but does not itself purchase items.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs

Finding

The trigger description contains a broad catch-all phrase such as 'any variation asking for price comparison or shopping recommendations,' which can cause the skill to activate on loosely related shopping queries beyond its intended scope. Over-broad activation increases the chance of incorrect tool use, unintended web lookups, and routing user requests into a workflow that gathers extra details or performs external searches when another skill or a direct answer would be more appropriate.
