Finnhub Pro

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This is a straightforward Finnhub market-data CLI with ordinary dependency and API-key handling cautions, not hidden or destructive behavior.

Before installing, consider pinning finnhub-python to a reviewed version and store FINNHUB_API_KEY through a protected environment or credential manager rather than a plaintext file. Expect the tool to send ticker/query requests to Finnhub using that key.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Insecure DependenciesIntroduces malicious components through unsafe dependency sources
  • Insecure Skill Coding PracticesFinds exploitable flaws such as hardcoded secrets or command injection
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review

" ``` 2. Maintain dependencies in a lock file or requirements file containing cryptographic hashes. 3. Install with hash enforcement where practical: ```bash pip install --require-hashes -r requirements.txt ``` 4. Review and pin transitive dependencies rather than relying only on a top-level version constraint. 5. Document the expected package index and avoid untrusted or supplemental indexes that could enable dependency confusion. 6. Periodically scan pinned dependencies for disclosed vulnerabilities before upgrading them. ]]>

Finding

Without declared permissions the skill's intent is opaque and cannot be validated.

Finding

The manifest description and README content are written as Chinese-only user-facing instructions, including the primary usage guidance. This can violate a language/locale policy when the skill does not offer an explicit language choice or document that it is intentionally region- or language-specific.

Finding

The top-level docstring, command descriptions, and user-facing text are all written in Chinese, and the script provides no option to select another language or opt in to this locale. That creates a natural-language policy concern when organizational policy requires language choice rather than a fixed locale.
