Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a Rez/PyPI packaging guide whose repository writes are disclosed, user-directed, and consistent with its purpose.

Before installing or using this skill, confirm whether conversions should go to your local Rez repository, a shared release repository, or a custom prefix. Use release or shared paths only when you intend to publish packages for others, and verify the resulting Rez package resolves correctly.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep

Finding

This markdown explains commands that perform persistent writes to local, release, or custom package repositories via rez-pip --install, --release, and --prefix. Although it explains what the flags do, it does not include an explicit caution or warning that these operations will modify package repositories and may affect other users or environments.
