Security audit

docx

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a straightforward guide for editing Word documents with python-docx, with only expected local document reads and writes.

Before using the sample code, verify that `output_path` points to a new or intended file because python-docx may overwrite an existing document. The skill otherwise appears limited to local Word-template processing examples.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep

Finding

This markdown file includes a complete example that saves an output Word document via doc.save(output_path), which is a file write operation. The surrounding skill description explains how to perform the action but does not include any warning or disclosure that using the pattern will create or overwrite files on disk.
