Database Migration Manager

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This database migration skill is mostly coherent, but it needs review because it can use sensitive database credentials while running unpinned external tooling and high-impact migration commands.

Install only if you are comfortable with an agent inspecting database environment files and running migration tools. Prefer projects where Prisma, Drizzle, Knex, TypeORM, Alembic, Django, and migra are already installed as pinned, lockfile-controlled dependencies, and require explicit confirmation before any production or destructive database action.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Insecure DependenciesIntroduces malicious components through unsafe dependency sources
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally

When the requested executable is not already present in the project, `npx` can retrieve a package from the configured package registry and execute its installation scripts or command-line entry point. Likewise, `pip install migra` resolves the package version from mutable registry metadata at execution time. The effective code executed by these commands can therefore differ from the code that existed when the Skill was audited. Th ...[truncated 2254 chars]

Use an approved internal registry or repository proxy with package allowlisting, malware scanning, immutable artifacts, and provenance verification. 7. Run migration tooling in a sandbox or isolated container with minimal filesystem and network access. 8. Give migration processes narrowly scoped database accounts. Separate read-only schema inspection, migration, backup, and administrative credentials where practical. 9. Do not expose production environment files to package installation processes. Resolve and install reviewed tooling before injecting database credentials. 10. Document a verification step requiring the Agent to confirm that the executable is a lockfile-controlled local dependency before running it. ]]>

Vague Triggers

Finding

The trigger phrase list includes broad terms like migrate that can appear in unrelated contexts, increasing the chance of accidental invocation of a skill capable of destructive database operations. In an agent environment, over-broad activation can cause the system to inspect env files, infer database tooling, or propose risky commands when the user did not intend a database migration workflow.
