Huizai Proactive Agent

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is not clearly malicious, but it asks agents to store broad conversation and user data and perform background/system actions without enough user control.

Install only if you intentionally want a highly persistent proactive agent. Before use, require explicit opt-in for memory writes, disable full-exchange logging by default, restrict reads/writes to skill-owned files, remove automatic email/calendar/browser/app/desktop cleanup, and require confirmation for any cron, isolated agent, deletion, or external action.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
  • System PersistenceInstalls backdoors, hooks, services, or scheduled tasks that survive the run
  • Insecure Skill Coding PracticesFinds exploitable flaws such as hardcoded secrets or command injection

Security Audit Uses Unsafe Filename Enumeration and Can Miss Sensitive Files

Filenames containing spaces, tabs, or newlines are therefore split into multiple values. Files can be skipped because the resulting fragments do not pass the `-f` test. Names beginning with option-like characters can also be interpreted incorrectly by downstream commands unless option parsing is explicitly terminated. The script suppresses errors and always prints “Secret scan complete,” even when files were not inspected successfully. This does not create a demonstrated shell-command execution primitive because filename text is not evaluated as shell source. The confirmed risk is an incomplete and misleading security scan. ### Attack Path 1. A sensitive Markdown, JSON, YAML, or environment file is created with whitespace or unusual characters in its filename. 2. `ls` prints the filename. 3. Command substitution and shell word splitting divide the filename into fragments. 4. The fragments fail the file test or refer to unintended paths. 5. The file is not scanned for secrets. 6. Missing User Warnings

Finding

The onboarding flow tells the agent to auto-populate persistent profile files from user answers without a clear privacy notice or consent step. This creates a significant risk of collecting and retaining personal data in durable files without the user's informed understanding of what will be stored and for how long.

Missing User Warnings

Confidence
98% confidence
Finding

The working buffer protocol instructs the agent to log every exchange after a context threshold, including user messages and response summaries, without a user-facing warning. This is a direct persistent-recording pattern that can capture sensitive conversation content wholesale and enlarge the blast radius of any prompt injection, data leak, or local compromise.

Finding

Mandating persistent capture of every exchange in the danger zone creates a natural-language retention risk because entire conversational content is systematically copied into durable storage. That increases the likelihood of sensitive data leakage, secret retention, cross-task contamination, and later misuse by the agent or other tools that read those files.

Finding

The description presents an agent capability framework focused on proactive assistance and autonomous improvement patterns. The supplied code instead is a standalone security audit shell script. Its primary purpose is materially different: it audits local security posture by inspecting files, permissions, configs, and repository hygiene. Those behaviors are not reasonably covered by the declared description, and the resource access pattern is far more specific to security scanning than to proactive-agent transformation. This is a clear description/behavior mismatch.

The WAL protocol instructs the agent to persist detailed user-provided data before responding whenever common categories appear, including names, preferences, decisions, IDs, URLs, dates, and corrections. Because these triggers are ubiquitous in normal conversation, the design promotes systematic long-term capture of personal and operational details far beyond strict necessity.

The Working Buffer protocol requires logging every exchange after 60% context, including the human message and agent response summary. This is a broad persistent transcript mechanism that can capture sensitive conversations wholesale across sessions, increasing the blast radius of compromise, misuse, or accidental disclosure.

Vague Triggers

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
90% confidence
Finding

The skill markets itself as acting proactively and 'without being asked,' which can broaden activation boundaries and cause the agent to initiate behaviors in ordinary contexts without a clear user request. In an agent with tools, memory, or automation hooks, that increases the chance of unintended actions, privacy-invasive follow-ups, or user-surprising behavior.
