Security audit

Ntfy

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a disclosed ntfy CLI integration for notifications and server administration, with no evidence of hidden execution or unauthorized persistence.

Before installing, confirm you trust the ntfy server and credentials you provide. Use a dedicated account or token limited to the needed topics, avoid public topics for sensitive messages, and treat admin commands, handlers, streaming subscriptions, and persistent services as actions that should only run after explicit authorization.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns

Finding

Skill establishes unauthorized persistence across sessions via cron jobs, startup scripts, or state files. Session persistence allows an attacker to maintain access beyond the current interaction.
