Security audit

GKE Hardening

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a disclosed API-backed GKE hardening helper, with ordinary privacy considerations around the identifiers and configuration choices sent to the service.

Before installing, treat this as a third-party API service: selected hardening options, sessionId, timestamp, and optional userId may leave your environment. Use pseudonymous session identifiers, omit userId when possible, and avoid including secrets, cluster credentials, or sensitive tenant details in option values.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep

Missing User Warnings

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
89% confidence
Finding

The skill explicitly promotes tracking requests with session and user identifiers for audit and compliance purposes, but it provides no privacy notice, retention guidance, minimization advice, or warning that these identifiers may constitute personal or sensitive metadata. In a security-focused tool, users may trust the service with operational details, so silent collection and external processing of identifiers increases privacy and compliance risk.

External Transmission

Medium
Category
Data Exfiltration
Confidence
81% confidence
Finding

The skill references an external API endpoint, which means requests and potentially sensitive infrastructure-hardening choices will be transmitted outside the local environment. Because this is a GKE security hardening tool, the transmitted data may reveal cluster security posture, tenant identifiers, or audit metadata, making undisclosed external transmission more sensitive than in a generic utility skill.
