Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a small TypeScript starter-kit helper whose documented shell commands are disclosed and the included script only prints status messages.

Before installing, understand that this skill can ask the agent to run a local shell script, but the inspected script is a harmless stub. Treat the advertised deploy command as incomplete documentation unless a future version adds real deployment behavior, in which case environment targeting and confirmation would matter.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Trigger AbuseOverly Broad Trigger, Shadow Command Trigger, Keyword Baiting Trigger
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Finding

The skill explicitly advertises a one-click deployment action and provides a concrete command to trigger it, but it does not include any warning, confirmation requirement, scope limitation, or description of potential side effects. In an agent skill context with exec permission, this increases the chance that a user or downstream agent invokes deployment in an unsafe or unintended environment, causing unauthorized changes to infrastructure or production systems.
