File Converter

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This file-conversion skill is simple and purpose-aligned, with the main caution that conversions write files to user-chosen output paths.

Before installing or using it, confirm where inputs and outputs point, because conversion commands create files and could overwrite an existing file if the same output path is reused. Also verify that the referenced converter script exists in your environment, since it is not included in this artifact.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep

Finding

This markdown file describes multiple conversion commands that write output files and directories, including batch conversion, but it does not warn users about filesystem changes or potential overwrites. For a skill that affects user data on disk, the README/SKILL description should disclose that outputs are created and may replace existing files depending on paths used.
