Security audit

Whois Toolkit

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This is a coherent WHOIS lookup skill with expected network use, though it should be used only with user-chosen domains and trusted WHOIS servers.

Install only if you are comfortable with domain names being sent to external WHOIS infrastructure. Avoid passing untrusted or malformed domain strings, and use --server only with WHOIS hosts you trust.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Insecure Skill Coding PracticesFinds exploitable flaws such as hardcoded secrets or command injection
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally

Finding

This code opens a socket connection to external WHOIS servers and sends the queried domain name over the network. Although the module docstring says it uses socket-based WHOIS queries, there is no explicit user-facing warning that lookups disclose queried domains to third-party WHOIS operators.
