Security audit

fitatu-diary

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

The diary features fit their purpose, but the documented remote setup can expose your access token and private health records over an unencrypted connection.

Prefer the local connection. For remote use, require HTTPS or an encrypted tunnel and restrict network access. Choose read-only mode for reports, keep confirmation controls enabled for changes, protect the saved session, and establish Fitatu context before allowing diary access.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Insecure Skill Coding PracticesFinds exploitable flaws such as hardcoded secrets or command injection
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally

Finding

Remote setup transmits the MCP bearer token and health data over plaintext HTTP

Impact

An on-path attacker can read health data and capture the bearer token for impersonating the MCP client. The documented setup does not enable read-only mode by default, so replayed credentials may also permit diary changes through the exposed write tools.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Output HandlingUnvalidated Output Injection, Cross-Context Output, Unbounded Output
  • Trigger AbuseOverly Broad Trigger, Shadow Command Trigger, Keyword Baiting Trigger
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
Findings (2)

The activation description includes general food, weight, and water mentions without requiring a Fitatu-related request.

Finding

Triggers such as mentioning 'what they ate' or 'their weight, water or calorie goal' overlap with ordinary nutrition conversations. The description does not require Fitatu context or exclude general dietary questions, so the skill could activate when diary access is not intended.

Remote-server setup instructs use of plaintext HTTP without warning about exposure of authentication tokens and health data.

Medium
Category
Output Handling
Confidence
99% confidence
Finding

The remote setup binds the service to all interfaces and explicitly uses plaintext HTTP with a bearer token, without requiring an encrypted transport. An attacker able to observe or intercept that connection could capture the token and sensitive diary or body-measurement data, then replay the token to access the service and potentially modify records because read-only mode is optional.
