Scope Sentinel

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a disclosed productivity helper for noticing coding scope drift and does not include hidden code, network access, or automatic privileged behavior.

Before installing, expect the agent to watch local coding activity for scope drift and possibly suggest stashing or committing unrelated work separately. Treat those as prompts to review, not actions to approve automatically, especially in repositories with sensitive or unfinished changes.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep
  • Trigger AbuseOverly Broad Trigger, Shadow Command Trigger, Keyword Baiting Trigger
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access

Vague Triggers

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
87% confidence
Finding

The 'When to Invoke' section says to use the skill 'At the start of every focused task,' which is a very broad activation condition rather than a narrowly scoped trigger. Because it lacks explicit boundaries or negative examples, it could overlap with many ordinary work situations and cause unintended or excessive invocation.

Scope Creep

Low
Category
Excessive Agency
Confidence
75% confidence
Finding

Skill's behavior or capabilities extend beyond its stated purpose. Scope creep allows an agent to perform actions unrelated to its documented functionality, increasing the attack surface.
