github-repo-search

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This is a transparent GitHub public-repository search helper with no code execution, persistence, credential use, or local data access.

Install this if you want a Chinese-language workflow for GitHub repository recommendations. Be aware it may activate on broad GitHub/open-source search requests, and it will likely use live public GitHub searches, but it does not ask for tokens or perform installation or code execution.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Trigger AbuseOverly Broad Trigger, Shadow Command Trigger, Keyword Baiting Trigger
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Vague Triggers

Finding

The trigger phrases are broad enough to match ordinary conversation about GitHub or open-source projects, which can cause unintended activation of the skill. That increases the chance the agent follows this skill’s rigid workflow when the user did not intend to invoke it, leading to context hijacking, degraded reliability, and possible interference with other more appropriate skills.

Natural-Language Policy Violations

Medium
Category

Confidence
91% confidence
Finding

The natural-language description and all user-facing instructions are written entirely in Chinese, and there is no indication that the user may choose another language or that the skill is intended only for a Chinese-language audience. Under the stated policy, forcing a specific language without user opt-in is a locale/language policy concern.
