Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a simple wallpaper fetcher that runs a small disclosed script against one external API endpoint.

Before installing, be aware that the skill contacts the third-party 60s wallpaper API and returns whatever that service provides. This is expected for the feature, but users who restrict external network calls should review or pin the allowed endpoint.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • MCP Least PrivilegeUnderdeclared Capability, Wildcard Permission, Missing Permission Declaration
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Finding
The skill instructs the agent to execute a shell script, but the manifest declares no explicit tool scope or permission boundary. That means a runtime may grant broader shell access than intended, making it harder to enforce least privilege and increasing the risk of unintended command execution or abuse if the script or surrounding environment is compromised.
