Workouts

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This workout-tracking skill is a simple local-file workflow that fits its stated purpose and does not show hidden or unsafe behavior.

Before installing, be comfortable with the agent creating a ~/workouts/ folder and storing workout, recovery, injury, and optional health-related notes there. Avoid recording sensitive medical details unless you are comfortable keeping them in local Markdown files.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep

Finding

The skill explicitly instructs the agent to create ~/workouts/ on the user's filesystem without any disclosure, confirmation, or mention of write behavior. While the action is low risk and aligned with the skill's purpose, silent filesystem modification can surprise users and establishes a pattern of performing persistent side effects without consent.
