Music

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a simple local music-journaling helper that stores user-provided music notes in markdown files under a disclosed music folder.

Before installing, be aware that the skill may create and maintain a ~/music/ folder containing personal music preferences, concerts, collection notes, and memories. This is expected behavior for the skill, but users who prefer another location should direct the agent to use a different folder.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep

Finding

The skill directs creation of ~/music/ in the user's home directory without an explicit user-facing warning or confirmation step. While this is not inherently malicious, writing to the home directory can unexpectedly modify a user's filesystem and may create privacy or clutter concerns if done automatically.
