Consultant

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This is a consulting workflow skill that stores local notes for continuity, with the main privacy consideration being its persistent local memory file.

Before installing, be aware that the skill is designed to keep local consulting memory and engagement notes under ~/consultant/. Review those files periodically and avoid asking it to store confidential, regulated, credential, or unrelated personal information.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep

Finding

The skill explicitly instructs the agent to update memory.md with reusable user context, constraints, and commitments, but it does not require a clear user-facing warning or consent flow before persisting that information. This creates a privacy and transparency risk because users may not realize that conversational details are being stored across sessions, especially when those details may include business-sensitive preferences or stakeholder information.
