Security audit

Notion Api

Security checks across malware telemetry and agentic risk

Overview

This is a coherent Notion CLI, but it can change workspace content while advertising a dry-run safety feature that the code does not appear to implement.

Review before installing if you plan to use it on an important Notion workspace. Use a narrowly scoped Notion integration token, test on disposable pages first, and do not rely on the advertised dry-run behavior unless the publisher adds an actual dry-run option. Be aware that archive-page immediately moves a page to trash and list-users/get-user can print member email addresses.

Intent-Code Divergence

Low
Confidence
96% confidence
Finding
The CLI defines a global `--json` flag with help text claiming it will output raw JSON, but none of the command handlers or the main dispatch logic check `args.json`. The code always prints formatted text, so the inline documentation for this option contradicts actual behavior.

Missing User Warnings

Medium
Confidence
84% confidence
Finding
This Python code includes commands to list workspace users and print each person's email address to stdout. Although the script documents the command purpose, it does not warn users that running it may disclose personally identifiable information from the Notion workspace.

Missing User Warnings

Medium
Confidence
89% confidence
Finding
The archive-page command changes page state by archiving it, which is a destructive operation affecting user data. The code prints a success message after the action, but there is no prior confirmation, warning comment, or help text cautioning that the command will move the page to trash.
