Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

The skill mostly performs Douyin ranking lookups, but it has review-worthy concerns around instruction override language, local shell config scanning, and unsupported subscription claims.

Install only after reviewing the subscription behavior and local credential handling. The API lookup itself is understandable, but the skill should remove instruction-priority override language, stop silently reading shell startup files, validate rendered links, and avoid claiming subscriptions unless a real user-controlled notification system exists.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Insecure Skill Coding PracticesFinds exploitable flaws such as hardcoded secrets or command injection
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally

Skill documentation must remain subordinate to the host's system, developer, and user instructions; it must not attempt to redefine the instruction hierarchy. The workflow also mandates promotional subscription content on every initial query and instructs the Agent to claim that a recurring subscription has been created. The audited project contains no scheduler, subscription database, notification integration, background service, or other implementation capable of creating or delivering those subscriptions. This creates two related security and integrity problems: 1. The Skill attempts to redirect the current Agent session by ...[truncated 1367 chars]

Undeclared Tool Scope

Medium
Category
MCP Least Privilege
Confidence
91% confidence
Finding

The skill declares capabilities that imply access to environment variables, files, network, and caching behavior, but it does not define any explicit tool scope or permission boundaries. That increases the chance of over-privileged execution, unintended file/network access, or secret exposure if the hosting agent auto-enables tools based on the skill content.

Vague Triggers

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
87% confidence
Finding

The description is broad enough to trigger on generic requests about trend analysis,运营参考, or fan-growth insights, which can cause the wrong skill to activate outside its intended scope. In an agent environment, overly broad routing increases unintended tool use and unnecessary exposure of network/file capabilities.

Vague Triggers

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
88% confidence
Finding

The keyword-matching table maps broad everyday terms like 手机, AI, 美食, 宠物, and 游戏 to categories without exclusion rules or disambiguation. That makes unintended invocation more likely for ordinary conversation topics, which is more dangerous here because the skill also implies network access, file caching, and API-key-backed operations.

Natural-Language Policy Violations

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
94% confidence
Finding

The entire skill is written to enforce Chinese prompts, labels, reminders, and reply formats, with no indication that the user may choose another language. This is a natural-language locale constraint that applies across the skill and is not presented as an optional or region-specific requirement.

Description-Behavior Mismatch

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
96% confidence
Finding

The skill metadata says it is for querying and analyzing Douyin follower-growth rankings, but this section adds subscription and scheduled push behavior. That is a scope expansion into proactive notifications and ongoing user engagement, which can surprise users and create consent, privacy, and product-boundary issues if the platform did not explicitly approve such behavior.

Missing User Warnings

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
88% confidence
Finding

The text advertises daily/weekly/monthly scheduled pushes, but it does not clearly warn about the ongoing nature of notifications, how long they persist, or how to stop them before enrollment. That weak consent model can lead to unwanted proactive contact and reduces user control over future communications.

Description-Behavior Mismatch

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
95% confidence
Finding

This workflow operationalizes subscription commands and confirms recurring pushes, showing the skill is not limited to one-time ranking lookup/analysis. Hidden or under-declared capability expansion is dangerous because it can enable persistent messaging behavior that users and reviewers did not expect from the published skill description.

Natural-Language Policy Violations

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
95% confidence
Finding

The file's docstring, CLI description, help text, error messages, and output strings are entirely in Chinese, with no option for the user to select another language. That imposes a locale choice by default rather than offering language selection or documenting a justified region-specific constraint.

Description-Behavior Mismatch

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
96% confidence
Finding

The script does more than fetch ranking data: it scans local shell startup files to recover an API key, which is a form of local credential discovery. That expands the skill's access beyond its stated purpose and can expose secrets from user files without explicit consent, especially in agent or shared execution environments.

Context-Inappropriate Capability

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
98% confidence
Finding

Reading shell RC files to extract credentials is unnecessary for a ranking lookup tool and violates the principle of least privilege. In a skill context, this is more dangerous because the code is expected to perform a narrow external query, not inspect unrelated local configuration files that may contain other sensitive material.

Content

Missing User Warnings

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
95% confidence
Finding

The script silently reads sensitive shell configuration files in search of credentials without warning the user or obtaining explicit consent. Hidden secret discovery is risky because users reasonably expect a ranking-fetching skill not to inspect local startup files, and this behavior can normalize overbroad access in agent environments.

Description-Behavior Mismatch

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
88% confidence
Finding

The script persistently caches the full fetched dataset under the user's home directory even though its primary job is just to retrieve and print ranking data. Persistent storage increases data retention and exposure risk, especially if the cache contains account metadata that other local processes or users can read.

Vague Triggers

Low
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
91% confidence
Finding

The example user input "今日涨粉帮" is short and ambiguous, and does not clearly identify Douyin, rankings, or this tool’s scope. Because it overlaps with broad everyday shorthand about growth or help, it may lead to unintended activation.

Natural-Language Policy Violations

Low
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
88% confidence
Finding

This markdown file contains user-facing documentation exclusively in Chinese and does not indicate that other language options are available. Under the policy for natural-language issues, forcing a specific language without user opt-in can be a locale-policy concern.
