Sports Odds

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a straightforward guide for querying The Odds API for sports betting odds, with a credential-handling caveat users should understand.

Install only if you are comfortable using The Odds API and sharing your API key with that service. Prefer safer credential handling where possible, avoid pasting keys into shared terminals or logs, and rotate the key if it may have been exposed.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Insecure Skill Coding PracticesFinds exploitable flaws such as hardcoded secrets or command injection
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally

API Credential Exposed Through URL Query Parameters

&1 | grep -i "x-requests" ``` ### Technical Analysis The documented commands interpolate `ODDS_API_KEY` directly into a URL query parameter. Before `curl` starts, the shell expands the environment variable, making the complete URL—including the credential—part of the process arguments. Although HTTPS protects the query string while it is transmitted over the network, it does not protect the credential from exposure through local process inspection, shell tracing, endpoint monitoring, debugging output, crash diagnostics, or URL logging performed by the API service and certain intermediary infrastructure.
