Security audit

HTML Slide Storyboard

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

The skill generates local slide presentations with disclosed workspace storage and no network activity in its documented workflow.

Use a selected workspace and retain the host sandbox. Generated files, including speaker notes, and the local state directory remain until removed. Review browser and print layout before sharing; output is HTML rather than PPTX.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep
  • Output HandlingUnvalidated Output Injection, Cross-Context Output, Unbounded Output
  • MCP Least PrivilegeUnderdeclared Capability, Wildcard Permission, Missing Permission Declaration
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
Findings (5)

Skill declares no tool scope ('permissions' or 'allowed-tools') but code capabilities were detected: file_read, file_write, network, shell.

MCP Least Privilege
Confidence
70% confidence
Finding

Without declared permissions the skill's intent is opaque and cannot be validated.

Workspace state is persisted automatically without user disclosure.

Output Handling
Confidence
90% confidence
Finding

Store initialization silently creates a .mochilab directory and a persistent SQLite database, and runmain initializes this store for every request. No prompt, operation-specific log, docstring, or comment explains this persistent workspace modification; the generic result output does not disclose it.

The slide-generation runtime implements an unrelated general-purpose HTTP client.

Medium
Category
Excessive Agency
Confidence
96% confidence
Finding

The manifest describes generating self-contained HTML slides and a Markdown outline, which does not justify a network client supporting arbitrary destinations, request bodies, and mutation methods such as POST, PUT, PATCH, and DELETE. The safe_request helper implements these capabilities, including optional access to private hosts; this file does not show it being invoked, so the finding concerns the available capability rather than observed network activity.

HTTP requests can transmit supplied data without disclosure.

Medium
Category
Output Handling
Confidence
87% confidence
Finding

safe_request sends caller-supplied URLs, headers, and request bodies to a remote host without a confirmation, disclosure log, or explanatory docstring or comment. HTTPS and destination validation protect the connection but do not inform users that supplied data may leave the workspace.

Scope Creep

Low
Category
Excessive Agency
Confidence
70% confidence
Finding

Skill's behavior or capabilities extend beyond its stated purpose. Scope creep allows an agent to perform actions unrelated to its documented functionality, increasing the attack surface.
