Website Link and Content Audit

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

The skill performs a bounded website audit with disclosed local storage and optional external-link checks.

Use it for sites you are authorized to audit. Optional external checks contact linked sites, and redirects may leave the starting site even with those checks disabled. Enable private-host access only when needed. Reports and local state remain in the workspace.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs

Description-Behavior Mismatch

High
Category
MCP Tool Poisoning
Confidence
97% confidence
Finding

The primary auditing behavior matches the description. However, the checkExternal branch explicitly requests external URLs using safe_request with method='HEAD'. This is an undeclared expansion of network scope beyond the stated same-origin crawl. Collecting headings, canonical URLs, descriptions, robots metadata, and timing information is supporting audit functionality rather than a separate mismatch. The implementation of the imported core helpers is not supplied, so their additional behavior cannot be assessed.

Credential Access

High
Category
Privilege Escalation
Confidence
60% confidence
Finding

Code accesses credential files (SSH keys, AWS credentials, etc.). This could indicate credential theft attempts.

Skill declares no tool scope ('permissions' or 'allowed-tools') but code capabilities were detected: file_read, file_write, network, shell.

MCP Least Privilege
Confidence
70% confidence
Finding

Without declared permissions the skill's intent is opaque and cannot be validated.

Optional external-link checks make requests outside the manifest's same-origin scope.

Medium
Category
Excessive Agency
Confidence
97% confidence
Finding

When checkExternal is enabled, URLs extracted from untrusted page links are passed to safe_request even though they are outside the skill's described same-origin boundary. A malicious page can therefore cause outbound HEAD requests to attacker-selected destinations, exposing the crawler's network address or triggering request-sensitive endpoints. Explicit opt-in, request limits, and use of safe_request reduce the risk; access to private networks cannot be established without reviewing that helper.

Scope Creep

Low
Category
Excessive Agency
Confidence
70% confidence
Finding

Skill's behavior or capabilities extend beyond its stated purpose. Scope creep allows an agent to perform actions unrelated to its documented functionality, increasing the attack surface.

Runtime initialization silently creates persistent workspace state and changes its permissions.

Low

Output Handling
Confidence
87% confidence
Finding

Constructing Store creates a .mochilab/ directory and SQLite database, initializes its schema, and changes directory and database permissions on non-Windows systems. These filesystem changes occur during request initialization without a confirmation, user-facing notice, or explanatory comment or docstring in the supplied file.
