Security audit

STRING PPI Query

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

The skill is a straightforward STRING database query helper, with one optional example script that should be run only from a trusted environment.

This skill is reasonable to install for STRING protein interaction lookups. Treat the example script as development code: run it only from a trusted directory or virtual environment, and prefer importing open_biomed from an installed trusted package rather than relying on the script's sys.path modification.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Insecure Skill Coding PracticesFinds exploitable flaws such as hardcoded secrets or command injection
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
