Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a disclosed, read-only podcast research helper that uses a paired ClawLink plugin and paid public Spotify data calls.

Install this only if you are comfortable adding and pairing the ClawLink plugin and spending ClawLink credit for public Spotify lookups. Ask the agent to keep searches focused on podcasts and to confirm before running large batches of paid calls.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • MCP Tool PoisoningHidden Instructions, Unicode Deception, Parameter Description Injection
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Finding

The skill is marketed and scoped as podcast-only research, but it explicitly exposes a general Spotify search tool that can return tracks, artists, albums, and playlists in addition to podcasts. This scope mismatch can cause an agent to invoke broader-capability tooling than the user or platform expects, weakening least-privilege boundaries and enabling unintended data retrieval or policy bypass for non-podcast content.
