Live Photo Maker

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a straightforward local Live Photo converter, with manageable risks around trusted dependency installation and overwriting output files.

Install only trusted copies of ffmpeg, makelive, and pipx, and choose a fresh output basename or directory because existing .mp4, .jpg, .pvt, or .zip outputs with that basename may be overwritten or removed.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Insecure DependenciesIntroduces malicious components through unsafe dependency sources
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally

Finding

The script unconditionally runs rm -rf "$PVT" on a path derived from user-controlled input (BASE) without checking whether the target already exists, whether it is the expected directory, or whether overwriting is intended. In this skill, the command can delete an existing .pvt directory at the chosen output path, causing unintended data loss; because the skill processes local files and accepts arbitrary output locations, the context makes this more dangerous than a fixed internal temp path.
