Weather Test

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This weather skill is a simple set of curl examples for public weather APIs, with no hidden code or persistence.

Install only if you are comfortable with typed locations, airport codes, or coordinates being sent to wttr.in or Open-Meteo when the examples are run. Avoid querying sensitive private locations if that matters to you.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep

Free, no key, good for programmatic use:

bash
curl -s "https://api.open-meteo.com/v1/forecast?latitude=51.5&longitude=-0.12&current_weather=true"

Find coordinates for a city, then query. Returns JSON with temp, windspeed, weathercode.

Missing User Warnings

Finding

This markdown file includes curl examples that send location data to wttr.in and Open-Meteo, but it does not disclose any privacy implication of sending user-entered city, airport, or coordinate data to external services. Under the markdown-specific warning rule, skills that affect user privacy should mention that data is sent off-system.
