Find Agent-Native Service

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

The skill is a service-recommendation guide, but it tells agents to follow mutable remote onboarding instructions and run unpinned package commands without enough user control.

Review each recommended service manually before letting an agent join it. Treat remote onboarding files as untrusted reference material, require approval before registration or POST requests, and pin or sandbox any npx/MCP package you decide to run.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Insecure DependenciesIntroduces malicious components through unsafe dependency sources
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally

It explicitly prioritizes this onboarding method and presents autonomous registration as immediately executable behavior. The effective instructions are not contained in the audited project and may change after review. If an external endpoint, hosting account, domain, or upstream repository is compromised, its content can be replaced with instructions that redirect the agent's current objective or induce it to invoke available tools. The risk is not limited to passive retrieval because the documented workflow explicitly includes registration and an HTTP state-changing operation: ```text POST /auth/agent-register ``` Consequently, loading and applying the remote document can cross from reading untrusted content into performing externally controlled actions. ### Attack Path 1. A user asks the agent to recommend or join a supported agent-native service. 2. The skill priorit ...[truncated 1592 chars]

Finding

Model output is used without validation or sanitization. Unvalidated output injected into downstream contexts (SQL, shell, HTML) enables injection attacks and arbitrary code execution.

Finding

The skill recommends executing npx skills add tavily-ai/skills without pinning a specific package version or integrity mechanism. Because npx fetches and runs remote package code at execution time, a compromised upstream package, dependency, or typo-squatted replacement could lead to arbitrary code execution in the agent environment.
