Security audit

OpenBotAuth

Security checks across malware telemetry and agentic risk

Overview

The skill is transparent about its identity-signing purpose, but its optional browser mode creates a local HTTPS interception proxy and persistent CA key that need careful review before use.

Install only if you intentionally want an agent identity system that stores a local private key and can sign web requests. Prefer core signing mode when possible. Avoid routing unrelated browsing through the proxy, do not broadly trust the generated CA unless you understand the TLS interception risk, and confirm the registration token is deleted after setup.
