Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a simple, user-directed transcription helper that sends chosen audio files to SkillBoss API Hub, with privacy considerations but no hidden or persistent behavior found.

Install only if you are comfortable sending selected audio files and filenames to SkillBoss API Hub for processing. Do not use it for confidential, regulated, or consent-sensitive recordings without vendor approval, and keep SKILLBOSS_API_KEY in a secure environment variable rather than hardcoding it.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep

Missing User Warnings

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
96% confidence
Finding

The skill instructs users to base64-encode local audio and send it to a third-party API, but it does not clearly disclose that potentially sensitive voice content leaves the local environment and is transmitted to an external service. This creates a privacy and compliance risk because users may unknowingly upload confidential recordings, personal data, or regulated content.

External Transmission

Medium
Category
Data Exfiltration
Confidence
50% confidence
Finding

Data is being sent to an external URL. This could be legitimate telemetry or data exfiltration. Manual review is recommended.

External Transmission

Medium
Category
Data Exfiltration
Confidence
88% confidence
Finding

The example performs an outbound POST request to an external API and includes user-supplied audio content plus an API credential in the request. In this skill context, external transmission is the intended behavior, but it is still security-relevant because it transfers potentially sensitive audio off-platform and could expose confidential data if users are not adequately warned.
