Security audit

Paper Viz

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a disclosed paper-to-figures workflow that reads user-provided research files and writes generated chart outputs locally.

Before using it, provide a clear input file and output root directory, and review extracted values when the skill marks validation as needed. Expect it to create a paper-named folder and write generated chart files there.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep

Missing User Warnings

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
95% confidence
Finding

The skill explicitly instructs automatic creation of local folders and direct file writes without requiring explicit user confirmation at the point of modification. This can cause unintended filesystem changes, especially because the skill also pushes execution-first behavior and continuation through multiple stages, increasing the chance of writing files to locations the user did not fully intend.

Natural-Language Policy Violations

Low
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
80% confidence
Finding

The manifest description is written entirely in Chinese, which can impose a language choice on users without opt-in or an alternative locale. The policy requires avoiding language or locale constraints unless the skill offers a choice or clearly justifies the locale specificity.
