gate-info-defianalysis

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a read-only DeFi information helper that uses listed Gate-Info MCP tools and does not request credentials, file writes, persistence, or privileged access.

Before installing, confirm you trust and have configured the Gate-Info MCP server. Treat outputs as informational market data, not investment advice, especially for yield/APY results where rates and risks can change quickly.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep
  • Trigger AbuseOverly Broad Trigger, Shadow Command Trigger, Keyword Baiting Trigger
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access

Unrestricted Tool Access

Excessive Agency
Confidence
80% confidence
Finding

Skill grants unrestricted tool access without appropriate constraints. An agent with unfettered tool access can perform arbitrary actions including file modification, network requests, and code execution.

## General Rules

⚠️ STOP — You MUST read and strictly follow the shared runtime rules before proceeding.
Do NOT select or call any tool until all rules are read. These rules have the highest priority.
→ Read `./references/gate-runtime-rules.md`
→ Also read `./references/info-news-runtime-rules.md` for gate-info / gate-news shared rules (tool degradation, report standards, security, and output standards).
- **Only call MCP tools explicitly listed in this skill.** Tools not documented here must NOT be called, even if they

Vague Triggers

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
89% confidence
Finding

The activation description says the skill applies when the user asks about DeFi protocols, TVL, yield rates, stablecoins, cross-chain bridges, exchange reserves, liquidation distribution, 'etc.' The trailing catch-all makes the trigger scope ambiguous and does not clearly bound what is in or out of scope, which could cause unintended invocation.

Vague Triggers

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
85% confidence
Finding

The decision logic says 'Ambiguous intent | Ask one clarifying question or default to A', which permits activation even when intent is unclear. Defaulting ambiguous requests to the overview scenario increases the risk of invoking the skill for general market questions that may belong to other skills.
