Galleon DeFi Governance

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a governance research and action-preparation guide that clearly separates read-only analysis from user-approved votes, delegations, and treasury actions.

Before installing, confirm you only connect the provider accounts, API keys, wallet permissions, or Snapshot aliases needed for the specific governance work. Treat any vote, delegation, follow, proposal publication, queue, or execution as a separate public action requiring explicit approval.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Finding

Skill grants unrestricted tool access without appropriate constraints. An agent with unfettered tool access can perform arbitrary actions including file modification, network requests, and code execution.

## Snapshot tooling

The documented research tools are `snapshot-query` and `snapshot-schema`. Discover current schemas before use. `snapshot-whoami` is authenticated; vote/propose/follow tools mutate public state. A follow is an account action even though it moves no tokens. Do not enable all tools just because the server needs no key for reads.

An authorized alias can sign governance messages without the user's main key. Keep the alias token secret, record the exact scope and revocation path in Snapshot settings, and preserve user approval per action or explicitly bounded policy. Recalling the vote tool can replace an earlier vote; reconcile proposal+voter+choice before retrying after an ambiguous response.
