ironheights

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a disclosed local security scanner wrapper with a few supply-chain and update cautions, but no artifact-backed malicious behavior.

Before installing, verify that the ironheights npm package and linked GitHub repository are the sources you intend to trust. Consider installing a specific vetted version rather than using unpinned npx, and be aware that the update path can contact npm/ClawHub and update the scanner unless disabled.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep

Finding

The skill recommends npx ironheights without pinning a specific version, which can cause execution of whatever version npm resolves at runtime. That creates a supply-chain risk: a newly published malicious or compromised package version could be fetched and run immediately, especially problematic in a security tool users are encouraged to trust.
