BugPack List Bugs

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill only reads a local BugPack bug list and displays it, with no evidence of hidden execution, persistence, or data exfiltration.

Install this if you want Codex to list bugs from a local BugPack server. Be aware it may activate on general requests about bugs or pending issues, so users who track issues outside BugPack may prefer narrower trigger wording.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Trigger AbuseOverly Broad Trigger, Shadow Command Trigger, Keyword Baiting Trigger
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access

Finding

The description says to use the skill when the user 'asks about bugs, pending issues, bug lists, or wants to see what needs fixing.' Phrases like 'pending issues' and 'what needs fixing' are broad and could match many everyday requests outside the intended BugPack listing context, increasing the risk of unintended activation.
