Security audit

Kraken Agent

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

The skill is a coherent Kraken trading helper, but its broad activation wording and live-account setup deserve review before installation.

Install only if you want an agent to help with Kraken-specific workflows. Keep it to paper trading and read-only market data by default, and do not configure live API credentials or all MCP services unless you explicitly intend to allow account-linked trading actions.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Trigger AbuseOverly Broad Trigger, Shadow Command Trigger, Keyword Baiting Trigger
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Vague Triggers

Medium

Confidence
94% confidence
Finding

The trigger phrases are broad enough to match ordinary user requests about crypto trading, market data, or paper trading, which can cause this skill to activate in situations the user did not explicitly intend. In a trading context, unintended invocation is more dangerous than usual because the skill can steer the agent toward market-facing or account-linked actions, increasing the chance of risky financial workflows being introduced without clear user consent.

Missing User Warnings

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
90% confidence
Finding

The skill explains how to authenticate for live trading but does not prominently warn that authenticated actions can place real orders or otherwise affect real funds. In a financial-trading skill, this missing warning materially increases risk because an agent or user may transition from safe paper trading to live account operations without an explicit acknowledgment of monetary consequences.
