Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a travel-search helper, but it can automatically install an unpinned global CLI and force unvalidated booking links into responses.

Review before installing. This skill may modify your global npm environment and route travel results through a third-party CLI that controls prices and booking URLs. Install only if you are comfortable with that package source, and prefer manually installing a pinned, verified CLI version in an isolated environment before use.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Insecure DependenciesIntroduces malicious components through unsafe dependency sources
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally

Do NOT use training data. ``` ```markdown ## Case 0: flyai CLI not installed If `flyai --version` returns `command not found`: 1. Run: `npm i -g @fly-ai/flyai-cli` 2. Verify: `flyai --version` 3. If still fails, tell user to install Node.js first: https://nodejs.org/ **NEVER proceed without CLI. NEVER fabricate results.** ``` ```markdown ## F-2: CLI not installed ```bash npm i -g @fly-ai/flyai-cli ``` ``` ### Technical Analysis The Skill mandates a global npm installation of `@fly-ai/flyai-cli` when the executable is absent. The command does not specify a package version, integrity digest, lockfile, trusted registry, or verified source revision. It also does not request informed user approval before changing the environment. An unpinned npm install resolves the package version and transitive dependency graph at execution time. The effective code can therefore change after this Skill has been audited. npm packages can also define lifecycle scripts that execute during installation. Because the package source and dependency tree are not included in the audited project, their network behavior, file access, telemetry, update behavior, and processing of user travel data cannot be verified from this artifact. Use of `-g` increases scope by installing a persistent executable into the user's global npm environment rather than isolating it to the project. This does not by itself prove that the named package is malicious, but it creates a supply-chain exec ...[truncated 1543 chars]

Missing User Warnings

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
97% confidence
Finding

The skill mandates automatic global installation of @fly-ai/flyai-cli via npm i -g if the tool is missing, without requiring user confirmation or warning that the system will be modified. In an agent setting, this creates a clear supply-chain and unauthorized system-change risk: a simple travel query could trigger package installation and execution from an external registry.

Intent-Code Divergence

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
98% confidence
Finding

The skill explicitly says agents must never invent CLI parameters, yet a later playbook uses --journey-type 1, which is absent from the documented parameter table. This inconsistency can cause agents to execute unsupported commands or normalize undocumented behavior, weakening safety guarantees around command construction and making misuse or command drift harder to detect.

Vague Triggers

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
97% confidence
Finding

The activation rules include broad phrases like 'find a hotel' and '订酒店' for a narrowly scoped apartment-hotel flight skill. Overbroad triggers can cause the skill to activate for unrelated travel requests, leading the agent into unnecessary command execution, wrong tool selection, and potentially system-modifying behavior such as installing the CLI when not actually needed.

Vague Triggers

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
95% confidence
Finding

The trigger list includes very common everyday words like "cheap" and "budget," which are broad enough to appear in many unrelated travel or non-travel conversations. The file does not provide scope constraints or negative examples to clarify when this playbook should activate versus when those words should be ignored.

Vague Triggers

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
95% confidence
Finding

The triggers "fast" and "quick" are generic conversational terms that overlap heavily with everyday speech and do not by themselves clearly indicate a flight-search intent. Without additional context limits or exclusions, the playbook activation condition is ambiguous.

Vague Triggers

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
90% confidence
Finding

The trigger "0 results from above playbooks" describes an internal condition rather than a clear activation rule, and it does not define how that state is detected or whether any user-facing constraints apply. This makes it unclear when the fallback should run and increases the risk of inconsistent or unintended invocation.

Description-Behavior Mismatch

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
93% confidence
Finding

The manifest centers the skill on apartment hotels and extended-stay travel booking, but this file's documented parameter collection and output behavior only supports flight-search inputs and a flight-results table. That creates a semantic mismatch between the advertised hotel-focused scope and the implemented/documented behavior in this artifact.

Natural-Language Policy Violations

Low
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
91% confidence
Finding

The instruction to always format prices in CNY establishes a fixed locale/currency behavior in natural-language guidance. The file does not indicate that this is optional, user-selected, or justified as a region-specific skill, so it conflicts with the policy against forcing a specific locale without opt-in.
