GitHub Actions Branch Drift Audit

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a local GitHub Actions reporting helper that reads CI run JSON files and prints drift reports without hidden network use, persistence, or destructive behavior.

Install only if you want a local CI drift report tool. When running it, set RUN_GLOB to a narrow directory containing GitHub Actions run exports, since broad globs could cause it to read unrelated JSON files and include parse errors or selected fields in its report output.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • MCP Least PrivilegeUnderdeclared Capability, Wildcard Permission, Missing Permission Declaration
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Finding

The skill reads local JSON artifacts via a configurable glob, but it does not declare an explicit tool scope such as permissions or allowed-tools. Even though the documented purpose is legitimate and the file access appears limited to CI artifacts, the absence of declared scope weakens sandboxing and reviewability, making unintended file access easier if the script or inputs are changed later.
