NEXUS Log Analyzer

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill clearly sends log-analysis inputs to a paid external NEXUS service, but that behavior is disclosed and matches its stated purpose.

Install only if you are comfortable sending the logs or queries you submit to NEXUS over HTTPS and potentially paying per request. Redact secrets, tokens, personal data, internal hostnames, and incident details from logs before use, and use the sandbox or explicit payment controls where possible.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Trigger AbuseOverly Broad Trigger, Shadow Command Trigger, Keyword Baiting Trigger
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Skill Enumeration

Medium
Category
Agent Snooping
Confidence
80% confidence
Finding

Skill enumerates or reads other installed skills. Access to other skills' SKILL.md files or the skills directory reveals prompt instructions, capabilities, and secrets that should be invisible to peer skills.

Usage

Vague Triggers

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
95% confidence
Finding

The README states the skill is 'automatically invoked' when a 'matching task is detected' but does not define the trigger conditions, scope, or consent model. In an agent ecosystem, vague auto-invocation semantics can cause unintended activation on sensitive inputs such as logs, which may lead to unexpected external processing or billing.

External Transmission

Medium
Category
Data Exfiltration
Confidence
86% confidence
Finding

The skill documentation instructs users or agents to POST input to an external hosted service, creating a clear data egress path. In the context of a log analyzer, this is more sensitive because application logs often contain secrets, tokens, personal data, internal hostnames, or incident details; automatic or casual use could exfiltrate sensitive information to a third party.

# Returns 402 + WWW-Authenticate: Payment header

External Transmission

Medium
Category
Data Exfiltration
Confidence
95% confidence
Finding

The skill explicitly instructs the agent to POST user-provided input and a payment proof header to an external third-party service. This creates a real data exfiltration boundary: logs may contain secrets, tokens, PII, or internal system details, and the skill provides no minimization, consent, allowlisting, or sensitivity checks before transmission.
