techstack-prospecting

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This is a disclosed Crawlora API helper for tech-stack prospecting, with expected external API use and no evidence of hidden persistence, privilege escalation, destructive behavior, or unrelated local data access.

Install this only if you are comfortable sending prospecting queries, selected company domains or URLs, live-check request bodies, and your Crawlora API key to Crawlora. Keep live checks scoped to user-approved shortlists and do not treat exported prospect lists as permission for outreach or CRM writes.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • MCP Least PrivilegeUnderdeclared Capability, Wildcard Permission, Missing Permission Declaration
  • MCP Tool PoisoningHidden Instructions, Unicode Deception, Parameter Description Injection
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands

Lp3

Medium
Category
MCP Least Privilege
Confidence
89% confidence
Finding
The skill invokes a bundled shell script but does not declare any tool scope or execution permissions, creating an implicit capability gap between what the manifest communicates and what the skill expects to run. This can lead to unsafe execution in agents that allow shell access by default, reduce reviewability, and make it harder to enforce least-privilege controls around command execution and network access.

Description-Behavior Mismatch

Medium
Confidence
92% confidence
Finding
The documented `brand_retrieve` endpoint expands the skill from tech-stack prospecting into fetching and extracting broader branding/profile data from arbitrary domains. That creates a scope mismatch: users invoking a narrowly described prospecting skill may unknowingly trigger additional collection of external site content and metadata, increasing data exposure and the chance of misuse for enrichment beyond the declared purpose.

# Crawlora REST helper — minimal, dependency-free (curl only).
# Calls https://api.crawlora.net/api/v1 with your Crawlora API key.

Finding
Data is being sent to an external URL. This could be legitimate telemetry or data exfiltration. Manual review is recommended.
